Vespers is one of the canonical hours in Eastern and Coptic Orthodox, Roman and Eastern Catholic, Lutheran, and Anglican or Episcopal liturgies. The word for this fixed prayer time comes from the Greek ἑσπέρα and the Latin vesper, meaning "evening" or at the “lighting of the lamp.” Prayers, psalms, and canticles are conducted according to a set form. If most of these are sung the service may be called Evensong or if most are said it may be called Evening Prayer. Vespers, Evening Prayer or Evensong will be conducted by The Rt. Rev. Steven Miller at St. Agatha’s Episcopal Church (144 Circle Drive) on Friday and Saturday evenings at 5 PM.
St. Agatha's Espiscopal Church, where vespers will be held.
